OUR PARTNERS
Funding for the Pegg Garden comes from grants (federal, provincial, municipal, and not-for-profit agencies), private and corporate donations, and fund raising events. Our partners are vital in preserving the Pegg Garden and its legacy. Thank you to all of our partners for your continuing support of the George Pegg Botanic Garden!
Lac Ste. Anne County
The family of George Pegg donated the 12.6 acre homestead site to Lac Ste. Anne County. Members of the George Pegg Botanic Garden Society maintain and promote the site, on behalf of the County. We are grateful for the ongoing financial and material support provided by Lac Ste. Anne County.
Culture, Multiculturalism, Status of Women Grants
As a designated Provincial Historic Resource, conservation and restoration work undertaken at the Pegg Garden is approved by Alberta CMSW. Some project costs are funded in part through the CMWS Heritage grant program.
Canada Summer Jobs & Young Canada Works
Each summer Pegg Garden employs 2-3 students. We strive to create quality summer work experiences for young people in our rural community. Several summer job grant programs offer young Canadians the opportunity to develop skills and gain experience in the workplace. Pegg Garden acknowledges the vital funding we have received through Canada Summer Jobs, Young Canada Works, and Canadian Parks and Recreation Association.
Community Facility Enhancement Program
CFEP provides financial assistance to upgrade, expand, purchase or build public-use community facilities. Pegg Garden acknowledges this important assistance for completing several projects, including the perimeter elk fence, a new water well, and food prep station in the machine shed.
